"The General Editor of the Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, stated that 160 international leaders had paid two million dollars to write letters in support of Dr. Muhammad Yunus. He questioned how Dr. Yunus came into possession of such wealth.

On Wednesday, in a meeting organized at the Secretariat, Obaidul Quader discussed these matters.

Bangladesh Secretariat Employees Unity Council and Bangladesh Secretariat Multipurpose Cooperative Society jointly arranged this meeting. The event was organized in the Secretariat clinic premises on the occasion of the 48th Martyrs' Day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

During the meeting, Obaidul Quader criticized Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the General Secretary of BNP, stating that he went to Singapore for treatment. While there, he declared Dr. Yunus as the nation's best son. However, after the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Yunus did not express any mourning. He did not utter a word about the murder of four national leaders either.

Obaidul Quader asked, 'Has Dr. Yunus ever been to the Shaheed Minar? Has he ever been to the National Memorial? Has he been seen during the country's disasters and crises? He didn't speak during the COVID-19 pandemic when the country was in crisis. He remains silent when the country's streets are flooded with blood.'

The General Editor of Awami League further questioned, 'Why does Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir shed so many tears for someone who is unrelated to the happiness and sorrow of Bangladesh? Why this mourning? Why this pain?'

Obaidul Quader stated, 'Mirza Fakhrul Sahib, your movement has not gained momentum. So you have started anew with Yunus. He is associated with the eleven. World leaders have requested the postponement of the case against Yunus. In their statements, they have also talked about free and fair elections. This makes the election a game of manipulation. We won't let this unfortunate game be played on the soil of Bengal.'

The General Editor of Awami League continued, 'Dr. Yunus doesn't keep us informed. We don't know when he comes to the country or leaves. So why should we stand by him? If he has repaid the workers' money, will anyone be above the law? He has won the Nobel Prize; does that exempt him from guilt? He has taken away the workers' money; we don't need a Nobel laureate like him.'

In the meeting, local government ministers, Tajul Islam, Palli Unnayan o Samabay Pratinidhi Minister Swapna Bhattacharya, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Mahbub Hossein, and others from various ministries also made statements.

In his concluding speech, the General Editor of Awami League stated, 'BNP's General Secretary provides daily reports from Singapore. I also go to Singapore for treatment. But I never send reports from there. If I ask him why he sends reports for one person, he won the Nobel Prize, so can he escape from any wrongdoing? He has embezzled workers' money; we don't need a Nobel laureate like him.'

Local government minister stated, 'We say, Awami League is not an angel. We have our flaws. We seek forgiveness for those mistakes.' He mentioned, 'Someone is saying now that the price of an egg is 14 taka. During BNP's time, it was 6 taka. We need to remember that the cost of clothing and government employees' salaries have increased during this time. Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the price of essential commodities has risen.'

Swapna Bhattacharya said, 'The upcoming national elections have united the conspirators. We need to be united against them. We must prevent all conspiracies and maintain the momentum of our progress.'

In the meeting, the ministers addressed the government employees, saying that they shouldn't let anyone tempt them away from their work. During the ongoing development journey, government employees will stand by the government. This was the message conveyed by the ministers."
